Ciao,Italia!

I;ve been in Italy for almost a month!
Italia,officially known as the Repubblica Italiana.
Time really flies when you;re having fun.=)

Italy is divided into the northern region and the southern region,plus the islands near the Mediteranean sea.
I am at the northern part of Italy,and in the region of Veneto.
The provinces in the region of Veneto are Belluno,Padua,Rovigo,Treviso,Venice,Verona and Vicenza.

Here in Italy,I;m back to being a high school student again! =)
The school I go to is Liceo Linguistico A.Veronese in Montebelluna.
In Italy schools are divided into many types,they have linguistico schools,(like the one I go to) which focuses on languages and social science,istituto teknik,which they teach you a particular skill,istituto scientifica,which is where they do the 3 sciences,biology,chemistry and physics.

In Italy,school starts from Monday to Saturday,8am to 1pm.
Most Italian students take public transport to school,either trains or buses.
We take the train because it is a lot cheaper than the bus.
The train station is about 1km from the school so it is indeed a sight to behold when school;s over and all the students walk towards the train station.

The subjects I study are science,maths,French,German,history,Latin,Italian,English,physical education,religion and philosophy.
Every week we only have 2 hours of science and 3 hours of maths.
5 hours of French,3 hours of German,4 hours of Italian and 3 hours of English.
Now you can see clearly that our school focuses more on languages.
Which is great,cause I get to learn Italian,and a little bit of French and German.
But they are all very different from each other.
Italian grammar is a lot tougher than english grammar.
And french grammar scares you,seriously.=)

In Italy you don;t wear uniforms to school,you can bring anything you want,and the students here do enjoy a lot more freedom than students in Malaysia.
The things we have in common? We use the blackboard and chalk in school,and we do not have lockers so Italian students all have really heavy school bags.
Oh,and we did something in common in English Literature,they study about Sonnet 18 too!
But they do a lot more,like Macbeth,Hamlet,Romeo and Juliet,Othello....
It;s a lot more interesting.=)

In the christmas holidays we went to Florence and Pisa by caravan.=)
Here in Italy it is quite common for a family to own a caravan.
They use it a lot during summer,to go on exotic travels like my host family who went to Morocco and Turkey by caravan.

Also,in Malaysia we hang up stockings for Father Christmas.
Here in Italy they hang up stockings for La Befana,a witch who comes on the 6th of January,bringing sweets for good children and coal for bad children.
Il sei gennaio e Epifania.
And so the 6th of January means Epiphany.=)

Italy and Malaysia are very different,and I;m having a great time here.=)
Also,it;s winter here,about 5 degrees.
After a month,it might sound weird but I kinda miss wearing only tee shirts and shorts,cause over here everyone wears multiple layers.=)
It gets really cold in the mornings and when I walk from the train station to school while putting my gloved hands into my pockets so they don;t freeze,I think about Malaysia;s weather.But then I can only be in the cold for 3 more weeks so it;s going to be memorable.=)

Hey,people! =)
I wanted to tell you all that I'll be leaving for Italy on the 18th of December for the AFS student exchange program for 2 months until February.

I'll be travelling with 7 others from Malaysia to all different provinces of Italy.
As for me,my home is situated at the Northern region,in the small,charming little town of Cornuda.=) It's one hour to the mountains,and one hour to the beach!

My host family consists of 4 family members,a set of parents,and two sisters.=)

padre Giovanni and madre Brunetta.

sorella Margherita,who's 18.
sorella Annalisa,who's 15.

They've got a 12 year old cat,Sofia and 2 turtles.=)

I'll be reaching Cornuda only on the 19th,cause it's a long journey with a flight transit at Doha,landing at Rome then by train to Venice.Then to Cornuda.=)

It has been eons since I last blogged.=) We're reaching the end of the year 2009 by now and I thought I'll run through what I did during this year.
As this is the year I graduate from high school,I carry many beautiful memories with me as we enter another chapter of our lives.
It's going to be a drastic change but hey,I'm definately looking forward to it.=)

so here we go.=) the Chou family.

The family whom I completely love and adore,with it's super family members,who are all really super supportive and I'll say I'm definately lucky to have wonderful uncles and aunts who really care about me.=)

Pe Pe

aha.Pe Pe is compeletely super! He gave me a cooking lesson,and provided all the ingredients.

Although I got curry sauce on the wall and 10% of the fried rice out of the frying pan-Pe Pe declared that I passed! Even Quan said the curry was not bad.High praise,coming from Quan,who adores food.=) Not to mention the supply of jelly,homemade ice-cream where I'm the very happy and eager guinea pig.=) Chocolate supply during exams,and I've got great cheerleaders cheering me on during the SPM.=) I'll always wave and wave from the upstairs window.=)Plus, Pe Pe agreed to guide me through driving when I'm back in February.I can even use the car when Quan's in KL.=)

Ah,Da Gu! Warm wishes all the way from S'pore,believe me,I do appreciate it a lot! Yummy chocolate biscuits when I'm cramming and caring so much even from a distance of at least the Straits of Malacca,I enjoyed my stay with you in S'pore and I look forward to visiting you all again.=)Plus library hopping with Da Gu Zhang.And also morning walks.=)

aha.i'm officially graduating from high school next week.
saturday,with the official,traditional ceremony in the morning and then the graduation dinner at night.
had our final rehersal last wednesday.
i'm super positive that graduation night is going to be unforgettable,super memorable and that will be that night that we're going to recall 10 years later and still smile.

everything has been done to perfection by the incredible committee and it's going to be superb.
so cy,if you're reading this-relax.it's going to be outstanding this year.positive.=)

seriously,you can't help but admit that you're going to miss high school life a lot after those many many rehersals, practices and 5 years of the blue uniform,plus short hair.
ahaha,the final time we have to have our hair checked.=)

so everyone's going to be eagerly anticipating the arrival of graduation night.
aha.the graduation night also marks the arrival of the next big event.
not so fun,the spm.sigh.

that's why we need the graduation night as motivation to perk us all up a bit.
it's going to be a night to remember.

so people,grab your camera's and attendance is a must.
it's your night to shine! =)

i'm so glad tmrw's a holiday!

it's like a break from 2 weeks of trials.phew.=)

anyway,today when i opened my pencil case to get out my stationary,wonders of wonders!

there was a ladybug inside.crawling very slowly on my ruler.

very brave of you,little creature.

lucky it's red,cute and harmless.no thorns,no spikes,no sticky fluid.clean and tiny.

so i flicked it off.aha.

then xq and hf made plans to come over tmrw for basketball.

kay,so i got really excited.and i was jumping in the toilet.then i opened the door.and jumped.

and ouch!!

now people,this is what happens when you play in places which have constricted area for vigorous activities.for example,the toilet.

i scraped the skin from my ankle on the edge of the door which is unfortunately,super sharp.so blood squirted out and eww.gross details.

so.i've learnt my lesson.if you get excited,jump in harmless areas like the patch of green grass in front of my house.never ever in the toilet.=)

which makes me officially legal to be behind the wheel and bergerak di atas jalan raya.

it's so nice to imagine me driving. soon.=)

yesterday,hz said to gather at the canteen.okay,so we had food.

then she mengeluarkan 2 big oranges from her back.

and cy,ay,bey,rou all gathered around and said:

"zhaomin,happy birthday!

it's your orange birthday present!"

ahaha.it was so cute!

very very orange,as in the colour plus the fruit.

then we walked back to class,me carrying the oranges.

then when i got back to class the girls came around and asked:"

zhaomin,what are you doing with the oranges?

"it's my birthday present! "(very happy and contentedly)

and everyone got very excited over the oranges.=D

back from the chem lab,i saw a box on my table.

hz,i suppose,had written a note on top.

"mooncake for you!"

aha,the real present was inside.

then i sat down.and the class sang happy birthday.=)

had ultimate fun today,with the pkk farewell plus visit to YE sales at queens.=)

had lunch at the prontip restaurant,food was not nice,but we had lots of fun.

well,everyone was super hyper,and we took loads of photos,and well,with about 50 over girls,it's absolutely normal to hear screams,yells,loud bursts of laughter.

strolled around the YE stalls with cy.seems like tough competition this year.

concert 2009 came to a graceful close yesterday!

hope the audience enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed doing it,I had a super terrific time, it even got a little bit emotional when we came to the last programme. after all those rehersals,uncountable times of trying on various gowns, before deciding on the very traditional ceongsam, it was a total blast!

well,like the chinese proverb,"tai2 shang4 yi4 fen1 zhong1,tai2 xia4 shi2 nian2 gong1" it sure isn't easy to put on a show.a huge big thank you all the drama club people who helped with the red curtain,all the super nice and patient pps people who reminded us again and again not to face the mike to the speaker,you guys have been super duper helpful.thank you!!!

oh gosh.it was unforgettable.

when it was seowling's turn,we were amusing ourselves.
aha,cy uses the exact same phone as i do,except that hers is white.=)

this is super random so i'll just type whatever comes into my mind.

so.the holidays are here!
i'm so anticipating the KL trip.it's going to be ultimate fun.
plus cameron,and the one day trip to bm.i'm going to be travelling.=)

oh,i visited this condo in Sg. Ara yesterday,and attended a wedding dinner there.
Regency Heights is a very nice place to live.seriously.it's like resort style living.
and the rooms!oh,it'll take your breath away,it's so posh.nicer than a show house.=)
they have gardens, pools, a gym, a tennis court, a ping pong table and lots more.
plus the security is super tight.too bad it's 15 minutes away from town.

in overall,preparations for the graduation magazine and the performance for the graduation night are taking place.
however,getting that advertisement for the grad mag was no easy task!
seriously,it took me 9 trips to get that check.
roar.when i finally got the check on the 8th time,i was like-phew.
super SLOW progress,kay? i approached them on the 15th of Jan and it took them 3 months to get through to the finance department.anyway,i got it,finally!

during the book fair,the new YE people set up a stall.aha.very nice products!!
really.=) people,go take a look.especially the wooden beads,and the crab!

oh well,wei is at aussie,and quan is at KL,which makes me officially the eldest chou in penang! aha,ivy's grumbling that she won't have a chance unless i go off somewhere.tee hee.
anyway,quan's coming back tmrw for Cheng Beng.
a very interesting tradition,really.
and you know the paper stuff you burn for the deceased??
ah,let me tell you,they're getting more and more modernized!
you see gold and silver bars.yes,not just money,gold bars!
and paper shirts,with Levi's jeans!
and dinner jackets.super posh.along with handphone,and leather shoes.

so unique.=)
well,going for Cheng Beng this saturday.
it's going to be a family gathering,then praying at home.

should be real fun! =)

dad picked me up from pisa last monday after tuition,it was a public holiday.
then he drove past out original route,and near sunway tunas,about 15 secs from pisa.
in the car, dad was already super excited.he went:"here,take the camera.and capture nice photos. i was so totally blur.huh?photos of the road?
but then he turned in this road, and i went:"omg!is this penang?it's so nice!!!"

it's so beautiful.that day we passed by was just after a heavy downpour,so the air was very cool and refreshing.wow.crusing down the street with the windows rolled down while looking outside,seriously,you'll never know that you're in penang!

along the road,there was beautiful trees,with lovely flowers!
well.you'll see what i mean with the photos.=)

and it was such a pleasant surprise after a looong tuition.

trust me,it's super funny.I was laughing uncontrollably.but it was really a night to remember! =)

we had english for the two last periods,and there were 2 groups performing their oral.
and.i have to say-this is the most interesting,most funny oral presentation i have ever ever seen!

mh,yy and wh presented chapter one of "The Pearl" .and they did a sketch.and not just a simple drama,they actually had props!!!

yy as juana wore an apron,and mh as coyotito had a baby cap,and a blanket.

seriously,these girls went all out!!

they also used mh's dog shape pencil case for the scorpion.totally-WOW!!

cheers for you 3 girls,that was really super!

life's super hectic these days.in fact,i feel like i'm rushing through stuff.
went for a scrabble competition last sun.view the details from hz's blog.
she's promised to post them up.=)
as there's some really really weird photos of us behaving really sampat-ish.

got killed in the 1st match.then played against hz,then adeline.
it's so nice playing with people you know,it's not so tense,and you don't panic.at least not so much.=)
not like the 4th round with yl where almost everyone came over and analysed the board and our movements.super pressured,kay? i was like: oh no.oh no.i'm already freaking out,and you all over here does not help,kay??scary.XD

ps.it's been twice in a row since someone said i'm super hyper.i am a little,i guess.hc even said:"whoa,zhaomin!i never knew you were so 'luan'.you always dashed in and out of class in form 4,and in form 5 when you sit beside me,i just realised how very very very very 'luan' you are."sy said there's no normal people around her in class,and i'm sitting behind her! so what does that categorize me? hyper.=)

i'm finally blogging again!gosh,my blog has been growing moss since jan.=)

anyway,we did this really interesting personality test during moral lesson.
aha,i'm a peacock!!!

according to the test,i'm over-friendly,talkative,careless,LOUD.oh yea,and i'm outgoing and bla bla bla somemore.
aha,i told cy and connie when we met in the canteen,and connie had to use her hand to cover her mouth while holding her bun in the other hand,she was laughing hyterically and saying :"oh gosh,zhaomin,it's so you!it's so you! "and she lapsed into giggles. =D

yea,it's quite accurate,actually.plus it says that i'm a dreamer,and cy insists that it's super true.hmph!

anyway we've got a good reason for the chem teacher when she claims that we're the noisiest group in class.aha,it's natural.there are 4 peacocks in the class,and we have 3 at our table.we're LOUD,remember? aha.=)

ps.we got our graduation photos! mine looks like i put flour on my face and super red lipstick on my lips,its so doll-like.like a chinese opera singer.

hz took a look at it and burst out laughing.and yet she complains about hers!hmph!

i showed it to my mum,and she said:"you think make up is free ah,put so much!"

technically,it's the 1st weekend after the 1st week back in school.
and oh gosh,form 5 is so different from form 4.
to start with,we got a super cool form teacher.=)
she totally saved us all when the bc teacher wanted to give the whole class a deduction of marks in just the 3rd day.
hello??it's just the 1st week,3rd day in class and she's started prowling and roaring.
can you imagine life after 3 months? =X

and our school decided to emphasize on discipline this year,which means,checking our hair on the very 1st day of school, and bursting in class to check our hair length.
hmm.they've actually gone to great lengths to make sure we follow the rules.
main reason is cause all the f5's will be taking their graduation photos this week.=)

ps.most graduates from our school keep long hair once they're out.imagine.short hair for a long 5 years.=D

it's 2009 and as we celebrate the new year,we look back at the year 2008,and we see the 365 days spent in joy,in laughter,and many more.=)

to my wonderful family:

planning ning and fenella's wedding was a total blast! we really had lots of fun!=)
from shopping for supplies,food tasting(the best part! =D ),sewing,stiching,planning,arranging,
there was always lots of friendly faces around,pitching in for help. always!
we'd never lacked helpers!!! from ah po,the oldest in the family to king wye,the youngest,
everyone got a part in the wedding and it was great fun being together on the 24th till the 28th!=)

we got to spend precious time together with da4 gu1 and 3 gu from singapore,and to hug king-wye,and to laugh loudly at uncle kum's jokes.=)it was super fun!and aha.i'm going to s'pore after spm for sure!!!! =D

we had a lot of fun,eating out together,and exchanging presents and also taking lots and lots of photos.=)

hmm.we're one great family,huh?=)

then after completing our mc job,aha,we could totally relax and let our hair down.

so we danced in a circle around the tables and had a really really really GREAT time.=)

after all the guests went back we continued dancing and fooling around.

i found out that.dancing with people in a BIG group is super fun.

everyone was so totally high!!!

dad bought this shelf to put in the store room as he claimed that the store room was a total mess.
and yea, he was right, the whole room is crammed with as-tall-as-the-ceiling boxes, cartons, bags and tons of other stuff.

so,mum proposed that we start moving stuff out,clearing the room,then move in the new shelf.
throw away unwanted stuff,and the boxes. =)

after digging,mum found lots of stuff!
my primary exercise books,my old toys, all old stuff.
Lego and bricks i used to play when i was little.
books that she used to read aloud to me when i was 6.
blocks and toys that accompanied me throughout my kindy years.

my doll stuff.

i was quite a fan of barbie when i was in kindergarten. *blushes*

hey,i managed to preserve all 3 pairs of shoes without one getting lost!

that's quite unbelievable.

i must have liked it very much when i was younger.

we started a few days ago,but today,we had foreign workers from aussie,and kl!!
we finished 410 pouches!!!!
with a grand total of 11 workers.
aged from from 14 to 78.=) wow.

ah po.the earliest worker.stitching the inner part of the pouch. =)

now, using the sewing machine requires good coordination of hands and feet.=)
and after working the machine for most of the afternoon,
ergu still managed the machine with her hands, but with yao's legs stepping on it!
finally,yao got the job which is the most suitable for him.
hey,he's just stepping on it.=)oh yea,and talking non-stop. =D
everyone will be yelling :'yao,come here and help me move this!'

and so, we went over to ergu's place to help unpack the 6 boxes of vases.
we arranged them according to size and shape,and then counted them, then repacked them again in 3 boxes.phew.

today,the jivey-ians had our victory dinner at Friday's!everyone was in super high spirits.and yes,everyone was dressed up super nicely.whoa.everyone went all out for this sit-down dinner with our advisors from Fed Ex,teacher advisors and all acheivers.

and,i want to say,people,if you're planning to have a gathering,a sit-down dinner, T.G.I. fridays would be a perfect choice.i mean,the service is excellent, and they really do try to adapt to your requirements.the perfect place! =)

i laughed till my sides ached,i swear.very healthy stomach exercise.=)

during dessert,myra and chris began fooling around,

and jess said-i'll never look at chocolate cake in the same way again!!!

hey,you have to admit,that cake was good!! =D

then the T.G.I people got out a slice of cake.and we celebrated cy's birthday early.=) they got her to stand up on a chair.and sing 'yue liang dai biao wo de xin'.all of us were super high and joined in the singing.all i can say is,we were super noisy.

after that,i met fang juin!!aha.my primary classmate whom i've just met in the gathering.

had a lot of fun!!i guess this marks the end of jivey,as it's the end of the school year,and there will be no more activities with ye.aww.that's so sad.makes it sound so final,somehow.=(

i'm really going to miss ye.it's been a huge part of my life in form 4.

well.we have learnt through ye,more than we ever did before.we've enjoyed,we're worked hard,we've met complications,and we survived!!!

we had our 6M class gathering on monday.=)

it was super fun,as we got back to those days where we were still in primary school.
anyway,it was really fun.a humongous thank you to the wonderful organizers,ks.zy.hoylin.fanny.and also eewa.you guys worked so hard to make it a success!!!

the guys for cracking their heads thinking about games.
the girls for buying the ingredients for cooking and sushi!!! =D

we had a couple of games,we raced to finish eating 2 huge watermelons.the guys had a different idea and they made juice,instead.=)

after that we had truth or dare.

then after that the guys started football.the girls enjoyed barbecue at the back.oh yea,ivy's a total pro with the barbecue set!!the fish balls that goes through her observation turn out a lovely golden yellow while mine turns.uhh.black.=D

then.it seems to be a tradition that in our gatherings water balloons is always included.naturally.everyone turned out dripping wet like drowned rats.and when i say wet.i mean wet.as in the hair dripping with water,the clothes soaked through.i had to squeeze water out of my hair.

it was a total blast,though!!i've discovered that deep down, we LOVE water.XD

it was very very very crowded.tons of people.16000.
when we ran up the flyover,the people who were leading were already at the bottom where we were just halfway through.

when we were on the bridge, everyone looked like crabs crawling around.XD

the penang bridge marathon is this sun,the 16th.
on the 13th,all the form 4's had an off day due to the spm examinations.
me and cy registered to be helpers for the distribution of the t-shirts,bib numbers and goody bags.

the HUGE pile of t-shirts.and it's not all.

there's mountains of them in the store room.=)

the volunteers.people queue up in front,the person with the com gives you the info,you run around getting the exact t-shirt size,bib number,toss everything in the bag,smile and pass the bag to the waiting person.

we took this photo when the crowd thinned down a little.
trust me,it's hectic.but i like it.=)

it was fun,but we were starving when it reached 1pm so we had our lunch break at old town.resumed work from 2.15pm till 6pm.

it's nice experience and yes,i know how the marathon system works now.=)

yesterday was the graduation ceremony.

we were required to reach at 8 am.

gosh.super early.then the VIPs reached at 10am.

one point i learnt??

never ever attend a ceremony without attending the rehearsal.=)

okay,what happened was.in the pmr results category, 15 students go up stage together and bow.then xr and me was in the middle,and we had to say: 1.2.3. then all of us would bow.
then jw was saying: xr,must be louder so we can hear you.
and xr went: sure.no problem!

so far so good.we went on stage.and xr got nervous,i guess.she shouted: ONE!

and it was so loud,people from below the stage heard it and they started laughing.
then xr got shocked.and did not say 2.3.it was a blur.
definitely memorable.

the 2nd one.me and cy with the ye trophy.we had to borrow one old one from the school as we'll only get the real one on the 30th.to cut a long story short. we missed directions and it was-interesting.i would put it that way. sry,cy.dragged you in too.=)

i'm getting FAT!!!!

it started with my mom.then my aunt said:
"aiyo,zm.how come you suddenly look fatter??? "

kay.so yin said:
"okay.here's the plan of action.it's always wise to work out 1st before any regrets."

the statement that pushed me over the edge???

cy said: "omg,zm!!!you.have.NO.neck!!!!!!!"
and i went :"omg.omg.omg.no neck means my head is stuck to my body.and that means i'm fat!!"
and cy,realising she's in trouble said :"nonono.what i meant was....."

aha.no excuses,girl.and when i very proudly announced my intentions of actually getting involved in the school team at lunch to a group of my friends,the reaction i got was:

"uhh.zm.are you sure???training,you know?running.
6 rounds around the field.3 rounds around the court."

then followed by a chorus of yea.uh-huh.and giggles.

oh no.see what my FRIENDS think about me??

so i got very excited.and i asked hz to come along.

i just got my hair cut yesterday.

today,when i got to school, i 1st met sy and yy at the library.
yy said :oh no!zm, why you 'think not open' ???
sy said :wow.it's soooo short!

then i crashed on to cy in the corridor.she took a look,and burst out laughing.
she said: zm!!!!that's so funny!!what did you do to your hair??it looks like a hen without feathers!!

then i met hz in the canteen.she took a look,paused for a second and said: wow.zm.it's so.so.so short. while cy was laughing uncontrollably beside her.

again,met bey at the foot of the stairs.she asked: zm!!you cut your hair??!!??

okay.i'm exaggerating.a little.=)
guess what people??

i caught a real live cockroach today!!!!

okay.i was in my room when i saw this cockroach upside down,legs up on the floor.
and me, being innocent,clueless *blushes* thought that thing was dead, and i bent down thinking that i could dispose it in the bin.note:i was going to grab it's antenna of fillers or whatever you call that and toss it in.=)

and it moved!!it turned in a circle on it's back!!

and i was going to yell for my super bug-loving bro to catch that thing but then i thought,hey,i 'll try to catch it.so okay,i got this sheet of paper and tried pushing the cockroach into the bin.and it did not work,so i used a plastic bag and covered the cockroach with the paper and pushed it in the bag.it's caught!!!!

you might think,hello??it's just a cockroach.
but hey!!!let me tell you people.=)

in my family,there has been this super fear of cockroaches.
in my family history,once my aunt got bruises on her arms and legs when she fell trying to escape from the flying cockroach.
all my grand aunts run when they see a cockroach.seriously.you would have thought the aliens invaded us.

aha.so according to my gran, i'm the 1st girl in the generation that has managed to catch a cockroach!! aha!! that pratically makes me the family heroine and also the record holder.
ahahaha.
i'm super hyper now.=)

ps.hz and jh,see??i caught a cockroach!innocent until proven guilty.this proves that i did not scream in that spider incident!! =)

had lunch today at queens with my family,quan and yao.
went book browsing in borders.quan was pointing out all those crime and thriller books and i was looking all over for twilight.i finally located it and quan was like:

oh,this is it. i see.

so anti-climax.i was super high,kay.and we came across this very inspiring book.'how to make everyone fall in love with you'.ahaha.very interesting book.seriously.it provides you with tips on when you go out with a person,1st step is to smile,2nd step is to talk about a common topic.there's even a section of do's and don'ts.

we were quoting the book when we went to paddington.hilarious.=)

we had this volcano thing with 10 scoops of ice cream.super duper yummy.

enjoy the raya holidays people.there will be no more short breaks until november.=)

she got me a raya present on tues.

so we shared the festive mood in school although it was raining the whole day.

well.life in school is definitely more fun and interesting,with her as my reminder.=)

and also yakking away about anything,everything under the sun.

she's an artist who has a deep passion for purple, and she loves interior design.

her handwriting is super neat and tidy.

her chem notes.=)

and she's involved in tons of activities.from ye to f1 to scrabble to debate,and also the assistant monitor and the secretary for the f5 graduation dinner.she's capable of juggling everything and when she's set her heart on something,she'll try her best to do it.

all in all,she's a super nice person.

the preparations started on wednesday.see the 4 talented people *winks* sticking the letters to the white board.

connie,sher and me.fooling around after the agm.we were much more relaxed then!

cy and connie.*whistles*

cause the tables were arranged in a way that me and cy were sitting on this table in front of the conference room.the other acheivers were sitted in 2 seperate rows beside our table.

it looks like the scene where 2 people from the movie sit in the center surronded by friends and someone comes out and says-congratulations.i declare you husband and wife.

okay,maybe i do have a vivid imagination.anyway,we were all super amused by the idea.

ps.i'm going to draw your attention to our tupperware on the table.=)
i brought it for xr but cy exchanged it with hers to match mine.so sweet.ahaha.=)

that was the speech that i was hyperventilating about last wednesday.

our corporate advisers.
mr kuan,jennifer,hooi lee,Pn.oung.and shamini.(who's not in the photo)oops.

the food was super super nice.all of us were totally bloated after the agm.we finished almost everything.we had sushi, tomyam noodles,curry,fruits,jelly and brownies!!!oh yea,and also burgers from mcd sponsored by fedex.

there was this part in the agm called 'bravo zulu' which was a reward for a job well done.mr.kuan gave certificates to the 8 best acheivers and a pendrive as a mystery gift.that's super nice of them.=)

the agm ended super fast though.we estimated 2 hours.the speeches,and formal stuff ended in just 30 minutes so we had an hour and a half dedicated to eating and only eating.

well.the ye programme is almost over.very soon over.it's going to feel a bit empty.=)
anyway the next and only ye event will be the annual showcase on the 30th of oct.which is the 2nd day of the dreaded finals.imagine! attend the function,end at 12,gobble lunch and rush to school in time for the 1st paper-chinese which starts at 1.15pm.interesting.=)

tmrw we're having something like an awards presentation at assembly.and i'm supposed to give a speech about juvenile crime.

have been speech-less lately.from drafting the speech for the agm(thanks to chris!! ) and the speech i'm supposed to present tmrw.

okay.i am hyperventilating.i mean okay,well,fine.it's my school anyway.internal.no outsiders so even if i fall flat on my face, no outsiders will know.now,that's comforting.Not.

conclusion is,people,even if you're very sleepy and tired tmrw, pls lend me your ears and act like you're listening.

ps.hz told me to add in humour,like what benedict did.great idea.but we're talking crime.which is not a laughable subject.oops.

today is the wedding day of hao sen and hui kunn.it's held at than lin buddhist society.

it was raining the whole day yesterday.

we were planning to go to town for dinner but it was cancelled due to heavy rain and floods.

last week,pepe introduced us to this activity where he did during his training in the Neuro Linguistic Programme.

you take a straw,and you try to pierce the straw through the potato.

i tried for almost an hour last week and failed miserably,

just getting a small dent on the potato skin.

however,yesterday,wonders of wonders,

i got the straw pierced through in the 2nd attempt!!!

my pride and glory.=)yay!

see?everyone was getting high spirits and we had potato-straw fever.

until the food arrived.=)

trust me,it's possible.

everyone,you have to try this.

my tip is,don't think.

don't go and think the philosophy stuff like the straw is a knife,

we have been hearing squeaks coming from the roof.
dad got a person to climb up the roof today, and we found-

2 babies- MUSANG!!!!

which means, there is still a mother roaming about.that.does.not. make me feel any better about the hairy visitor living just above my room.

we borrowed a cage from the neighbor opposite.beware.they BITE!!!

neighbors coming over to see the musang.

they will be staying with my neighbor until they grow big enough to go out to the wild.
to grow to that size, they would have to be in the attic for at least 2 months.
just imagine! 2 months with the musang above me!!

scary.i m going to have wild dreams tonight about me riding a MUSANG and going off in the desert. uh-huh.

our school's coop AGM meeting.
kinda boring.only highlight was the lucky draw session.
and, I was so lucky to win a prize! a free ticket to GSC!!
from now on, i'm going to start to treat my school number differently.05357. =)

in the middle of moral lesson, a group of prefects rushed in and checked our hair.
the 3-3-5 rule. must have been my lucky day. did not get caught!
okay, my hair wasn't that over to begin with.
and no, i'm not going against the rules.just bending it as much as possible without breaking it.

woke up at 6am to fetch the kids from pure lotus orphanage to than lin.

children camp! fruit plate.the game did not turn out very well.turned out that the kids did not really understand the rules. they just loved running around.

nvm, as long as they're having fun.=)

cooking lesson.
the pillow tied to the tummy is to show how tough it was when our mothers were pregnant.

too bad.the kids rolled on their "babies", hit them, and lay on top of them.

violence.then some of them were blind folded, or had arms tied up to show how tough it is for the handicapped to move around.

not really good.a few of the kids got a bump on the head.they were very happy and excited though! you could hear screams and laughter every 2 seconds.

super duper packed scedule on fri.

pkk outing from 8 to 2,but i got off early.

went directly to the pure lotus orphanage as a part of

our school's YE company's social responsibility.

it was drizzling when we got there.

not very practical as i was carrying a bag full with art supplies while cy was balancing this cake box and the kite sample below while ringing the bell and calling out for someone to open the gate.

we were going to make kites!

people,sry for the cacat-ness cause this was done at 6am.

too bad it rained constantly.

if not,we could have went out to fly the kites.

it was really fun watching the kids,they're so cute!!

and the way they show appreciation for every little thing.

we had a really fun afternoon,which ended with tea and the cake.

-biology seminar.rained for the whole day.heard that they had a blast at the krs traning camp.
-had lunch at gurney with er gu,yao and quan.
-physics tuition to end my day.

-4 hours straight of chemistry at pn ho's place.we barely survived.quan claims that he had 4 hours and a half on monday.
hmmm.interesting.

cy's away at cameron highlands plucking tea leaves and smelling the sweet scent of roses,corn and ceylon tea.it rained the whole day on mon so it'll be great to see the mist.

going to a lawatan with pkk on fri.we're visiting the aquarium.
then going to visit pure lotus orphanage in the afternoon as a part of social work.

CONGRATS MOM!!!!

today is the BIG day when my mom graduated from USM as a MOE,and she got tickets for all of us to attend the ceremony.

we arrived at USM around 8 to see people and graduates in their robes all over the campus.

this is my 1st time at an actual graduation ceremony,and I've discovered the following:

no offense,mom,but to tell the honest truth,it was kinda tiring.

you sit on the chairs which are arranged so close you are touching you neighbor's shoulder and cause we were hanging around outside and we got in late,we had to sit in different areas.

the only seat i could find(after craning my neck and tiptoe-ing like a giraffe) was in the middle and very very high up,between 2 old men.and i mean really old.like my granddad.let's just say they were not the ideal seat mates for a grueling 4 hour ceremony.

they were grumpy too.i was carrying this HUGE bouquet of flowers.

it consisted of 3 large sunflowers,3 yellow lilies,and 2 white lilies,and wrapped up in 6 layers of fancy paper-brown,green,yellow.it's no wonder i can remember all the details,after starring at the flowers for 4 loooong hours.i was carrying the bunch of flowers plus this really really heavy sling bag filled with pins,cameras,handphones,and other stuff.all i can say is my balancing skills definitely improved.

try balancing the bunch of flowers with one hand while holding the bag in another and standing for the national anthem with both people from you both sides frowning at you for blocking their view with the flowers.that is sooo not fun.and i was so bored,i actually thought of what to write here,what you are reading right now-in the hall.

however,mom,watching you get the certificate was definitely the highlight of the ceremony.

i'm better that li though___he slept!!!

after that we waited for about half an hour just to get out of DTSP,and out to the sunshine to snap photos.yay.that's my favorite part.

we strolled around,snapping photos while looking at all the stalls.definitely memorable.

anyway,mum,i really enjoyed my morning witnessing your proud moment.congrats!!!!!!!!

p.s. i'll post the photos later as there's a huge prob with the system which,i apparently have no idea how to fix.=)

9.8.08. cross country.

today was the cross country event in our school,and only the form 1's were required to go but i went to set up our YE stall,with some other people.=)

unfortunately,sales was bad as everyone was sweaty,sticky and it was extremely HOT.yes.and our stall was like-facing the sun,so we hid in the shade as nobody was in the mood of buying stuff in the heat.

08.08.08 landed on a friday,which means that it's a school day.after school,we had a family gathering over at my place to celebrate my birthday plus witness the Beijing Olmpics opening ceremony together. dinner!

oh gosh...i'm on cloud nine right now.seriously!!!

today at school,when we were at the ye meeting, pn oung carried in this huge yummy chocolate mint cake and yea, it was a surprise birthday celebration for me plus a celebration for the ye QBM sales!!!

oh gosh,that was soooo sweet of you guys!!!

so anyway,we sang the birthday song,and made 3 wishes and it took me 3 tries to blow the candle and yes,everyone ate the super yummy cake!!!

cause birthday celebrations are not allowed at our school,we closed all the doors and the prefect who was standing guard outside was like darting us all those weird glances...=)

you know those corny commercials where this guy walks and walks,then he sees a girl holding this ice-cream cone flipping her hair and the guy just goes starstruck and crashes into the lamppost??

i used to think it was impossible,but today i experienced it myself and yes,if you're not looking where you're going,you'll knock into the wall!!

at recess,i was walking with cy and i was aiming at the table where i left my stuff earlier.i was straining to see...see...see...and i heard yj shout:"zhaomin, the wall!!!"

i turned my head back and seriously,the wall was 2mm away from my nose.okay,i admit i was a bit blur but then it was an accident!!luckily i did not bump into it if not....i'm going to have a pancake nose.

cy thinks it's because i'm still in super super high spirits after the surprise that's why i wasn't thinking straight.most probably.

it's impossible for me to not get super duper excited....

just about 10 minutes ago,zy came over and gave me my b'day present from him,ks and nerry.

it's really really really super cute and it suits the season!!!

a few years back,i used to think of this day,and since then i believed in this theory:
if i make a wish at 8.08am, it's going to come true.

plus i love the fact that thousands,millions of people all over the world are celebrating with me.
okay,they are celebrating the Olympics but it's going to be so cool.
i mean everyone anticipating the BIG day,everyone in high spirits,i'm getting carried away but i suppose you get the picture.
